The Journey is more important than the destination
A Bond:
A bond is formed between dogs and mankind,
and soon our hearts become intertwined.
The mixture of two souls combined,
growing together, two hearts aligned.
Sharing life’s ups and downs with us,
a smiling face, so full of trust.
Able to alleviate all our fears,
and dry up our unscheduled tears.
They choose to be close to you,
a comforting fit…like perfect shoes.
When they leave us, it hurts so much,
we miss them, and their perfect touch.
Furry bodies we loved to clutch,
when times were hard they were our crutch.
I miss those dogs who’ve gone before,
who changed my life forever more.
I hope they are waiting on a snowy ridge,
when at last I cross that rainbow bridge.
